7G Productions provided crucial footage from Jim Marshall’s last interview for the documentary “Show Me the Picture, The story of Jim Marshall”. Working with Kevin White and Don Starnes we recorded the last interviews of Jim for the non-profit MS friends. We took a deep dive into his history and ended up with in depth footage beyond the scope of the charity he and his assistant Amelia Davis were promoting. Jim Marshall was responsible for Iconic images of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and just about every legendary music act of the 1960s and ’70s defid the career of San Franciscneo photographer. Behind the scenes, a pugnacious personality and appetites for drugs and guns made him his own worst enemy. The film recently premiered at SXSW and won the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature at it’s bay area premier at The San Francisco International Film Festival. The film will also be appearing at the upcoming DOC NYC and
DOC’n Roll festival.
Much of the footage from the interview is here in the movie trailer
